Session 10
Living the Disciple Lifestyle
Based on Chapter 10 — Conclusions
Discipleship isn't just a season—it's a lifestyle. The journey of following Jesus continues far beyond this study or any single spiritual milestone. In this final chapter, we are reminded that becoming like Christ is a lifelong process. It's about living intentionally each day, staying grounded in the basics, walking humbly, and constantly remembering that we are loved, forgiven, and called to grow.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6
"As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith…"
Colossians 2:6–7
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
John 15:4
- 1
Philippians 1:6 says that God will complete the work He started in you. How does that promise give you confidence as you continue growing in your walk?
- 2
One of the key reminders from this chapter is: "Don't stop growing." What are some practical ways you can continue growing spiritually after this study ends?
- 3
The author writes, "Live the life that comes from loving Jesus." What's the difference between doing things for God and living from love for God?
- 4
Colossians 2:6–7 encourages us to stay rooted and built up in Christ. What spiritual habits help you stay rooted, and where do you feel you need deeper roots?
- 5
John 15 reminds us that fruit only comes from abiding in Jesus. What does abiding look like in your current season of life?
- 6
Now that you've completed this course, what's one area of your life where you've seen the most transformation?
Reflection
Take a moment to reflect on your journey through the Disciple Lifestyle. What's one lesson or truth from this process that you never want to forget?
Action Step
This week, ask God to show you how to keep walking forward. Choose one of the following ways to continue your growth: start a new devotional or Bible reading plan; join or lead a small group; begin journaling your prayers regularly; memorize a verse that will anchor your next season. Then write your plan.
Father, thank You for walking with us on this journey of discipleship. We praise You for the growth, the healing, and the deeper connection we've found in You. As we go forward, help us to remain rooted in Christ, open to correction, and passionate to live for Your glory. Complete the work You've started in us. In Jesus' name, amen.
